The popular question and answer site, Quora has launched its self-serve ad platform to advertisers globally just over a month after it reached unicorn status by raising $85 million at a valuation around $1.8 billion.
Quora, which has been around for 7 years now and which over the years have become the go-to platform to get answers to questions on just about any topic, was frequently criticized for being slightly slow when it came to monetization through advertising. However, with the launch of their self-serve ad platform, which will allow advertisers, both large and small to create text-based ads and mobile app install ads, it seems Quora is moving in the right direction. Keeping in line with this big launch, Quora has also doubled its ad team and is also planning to invest further in building out the ads platform.
The platform currently allows advertisers to run two native ad formats — text based ads and mobile app install ads on a Cost Per Click (CPC) basis and the campaigns can be targeted by topics, location and device. Quora has a worldwide audience of more than 200 million monthly unique visitors and by offering advertisers to show their content along with the most relevant topics and questions, Quora allows advertisers to reach the right users at the right time.
Advertisers will also be able to measure the ROI of their advertising campaigns through metrics displayed on Quora’s Ads Manager dashboard and by tracking conversions using a conversion pixel or by integrating with one of their measurement partners.
