McDonald’s new age spinoff restaurant CosMc’s, a beverage-led concept and on-the-go quick bites, is finally open. It drew a large number of customers at the official opening, the first in the world, on December 7 in the Chicago suburbs in Bolingbrook.
CosMc’s offerings include Churro Frappe, a S’mores Cold Brew, a Sour Cherry Energy burst, a Berry Hibiscus Sour-Ade, a Turmeric Spiced Latte, and a Blackberry mint green tea, along with iced teas and lemonades. There’s the Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich and the Spicy Queso Sandwich, the ever-popular McMuffin, hash brown, M&M’s McFlurry, and twist ice cream cones – sweet and savory treats. There will be classic food options and creative customizations such as Vitamin C shots, popping boba, and flavored syrups.
It’s designed to boost the customer’s mood into the stratosphere. CosMc’s has its own unique seamless digital and Drive Thru experience. Consumers can take a break from earthly stressors and use the dynamic menu boards and cashless payment devices to breeze through the ordering and payment process.
Chris Kempczinski, McDonald’s CEO, said the rationale behind CosMc’s restaurant was a growing demand for an afternoon beverage pick-me-up, which is a $100 billion market where McDonald’s doesn’t wield a strong presence.
CosMc’s is McDonald’s Corporation’s attempt to get into the coffee game and more. It’s part of a strategy known as ‘Accelerating the Arches’. McDonald’s plans to open around 10 additional CosMc’s locations in Texas by the end of 2024, with the initial focus on the Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio areas.
Kempczinski said CosMc’s will boast its distinct personality. “This exciting venture aims to tap into the evolving preferences of customers, and provide them with a unique and enjoyable dining experience.”
