The world’s leading sportswear brand Nike has introduced a collection especially made and designed for breaking. Nike Jam is the first shoe of its kind designed for breaking. It maximizes the athlete’s ability to slide across smooth competition surfaces, concrete, and asphalt. Designed by Futura, the footwear enhances protection and mobility in fresh styles.
Nike Jam is a product of six years of the brand’s innovation, built on extensive testing at the Nike Sport Research Lab. The foam drop-in midsole construction provides breakers ample protective cushioning, and the rubber cup sole offers the close-to-ground feel breakers need to perform at their peak.
Logan ‘Logistx’ Edra, a Nike athlete, believes there’s so much that breakers can appreciate about the shoe. “The Jam is the type of shoe I’d wear any time to break, whether practicing, ciphering or chillin’, because of its traction and durability,” she said. “The upside-down Swoosh is one of the dopest details because switching directions and going upside down is very unique to our craft. It is such a dope Easter egg feature that only breakers can flex.” Logistx said the shoe pays homage in so many ways, with the reflectors, mesh and different fabrics on the uppers giving a nice touch.”
Futura said the outcome – Nike Jame – is amazing. “The Jam is a beautiful, brand-new model that’s been created from the ground up for what the dancers themselves want to perform and feel comfortable in. We’re pushing the boundary of what’s possible from a manufacturing and design point of view.”
Nike will make the Nike Jam available globally through its portal on July 16.
