Japan’s Don Quixote ‘Donki’ Channels Bruno Mars’ Global Stardom and Blue Penguin

Donki, a Japanese retail chain, has partnered with American singer Bruno Mars for its latest campaign which kicked off on August 20. The musician features in an ad film with Donki’s iconic blue penguin mascot. Both dance away to an infectious beat.

The ad highlights Bruno Mars strolling into Don Quixote’s Shibuya flagship store with four dancers. They are enticed by the products in neon-lit aisles. Soon enough, a catchy jingle is played with the slogan Donki Ikuyo (Let’s Go to Donki). And everyone starts dancing.

Bruno Mars produced this ad video and jingle, with its whirlwind of colors and rhythm. It showcases the singer’s love for Japan and its culture.
