PepsiCo Partners with Intuitive AI for Oscar Sort Recycling and Sortation System

PepsiCo has emerged as the first global beverage supplier to collaborate with Intuitive AI – Oscar Sort AI recycling and sortation system. Oscar Sort is an AI recycling assistant.

PepsiCo will deploy this system in high-traffic areas across the United States, office locations, and select customer partner locations, including universities, airports, and malls, in the coming months. The AI assistant identifies materials and guides users to the correct bin to help with proper disposal.

Oscar Sort enhances overall recycling accuracy. This technology is capable of detecting organic remnants in food containers. It guides people to pour out their liquids and provides precise disposal instructions for virtually any common materials that are ready to be discarded. Moreover, Oscar’s interactive digital display gamifies the experience and provides real-time feedback to educate consumers.

Hassan Murad, CEO & Co-Founder of Intuitive AI, said partnering with PepsiCo expands Oscar Sort’s reach in high-traffic public spaces. It accelerates recycling and sustainable media at scale. “Together, we’re aiming to improve circularity and educate consumers in a fun and engaging way.”

PepsiCo is striving to drive additional collection and transparency across the recycling experience. Through Oscar Sort, the beverage giant aims to help consumers make the correct choice on how to dispose of their materials on the front end, at the bin.
