Nike and Jacquemus have once again awed enthusiasts with J Force 1, a sophisticated shoe with the spirit of Air Force 1. It features a leather outer with classic perforated vamps, mesh tongue, and reworked “JF1” branding on its metal lace dubraes, and unique nylon weaving that wraps around the sole.
Simon Porte Jacquemus, French fashion designer and founder of the Jacquemus brand, believes the Air Force 1 is one of the most iconic NIKE shoes with a more chic and softer gaze. “My ambition was to revisit the pair from a minimal standpoint, that allows it to be worn as a dress shoe with a suit. I’ve also been much inspired by climbing shoes, especially by the Nike Terra Ci AAG, that I have been collecting for years.”
Jacquemus wanted to bring a woven, technical aspect to the silhouette, which can often be found throughout his collections. “I liked the idea of separating the shoe in half and creating a puzzle on its unique assembly.”
The sneakers boast Swoosh-branded leather aglets on their laces, paired with unique woven sole units crafted with wraparound nylon cording. Moreover, it comes complete with debossed co-branding on its heel tab and is rounded out by small metallic Swooshes appearing on its side panels.
The J Force 1 is the second offering of the Nike – Jacquemus collaboration. In 2022, the duo was applauded for the Air Humara.
