Nike to Collaborate with Japanese Designer Nigo for New Sneaker

Nike is set to work with streetwear titan, Nigo who founded Bape and Human Made, for a new sneaker. Nigo has extensively worked with rival Adidas over the past 20 years. The collaboration with Nike marks a dramatic shift in the Japanese designer’s footwear alliances.

But word is that Nigo and Nike are still in the early stages of working together and any collaborative product won’t be released until 2024 at the earliest. Moreover, no official announcement has been made about this collaboration.

Nigo launched Bape sneaker styles like the Superstar with Adidas in 2003. He stepped away from the German athletic brand in 2013. However, the designer remained in touch with Adidas for a 2014 collection. But lately, there have been any collaborations between the two.

Verdy, whose Girl’s Don’t Cry brand Nigo has collaborated with through Human Made since 2021, in an Instagram post said the designer was seen in a pair of Nike’s Go FlyEase sneakers. It should be noted that Nigo has rarely worn Nike sneakers publicly.
