Spotify Takes a Bold Step With Biggest App Redesign to Date – Dynamic Mobile Interface

Spotify has taken the plunge, showcasing its biggest and boldest evolution that makes it stand with its counterparts, part YouTube, part TikTok, and part Instagram, a hybrid! The new look of the app’s homescreen is a wow:

Heavy on imagery, vertical scrolling…and a feed that looks similar to TikTok and Instagram. Spotify hopes to make it easier for users to find new things. The redesign doesn’t come as a surprise as the audio streaming service provider over the years has transformed through updates and iterations. Now, it wants to create meaningful connections with artists, their fans and user base.

Engaging Users With A New Look

Spotify, via the new look, gives listeners a more active role in audio discovery process. Creators also have more space to share their work. Gustav Soderstrom, Spotify co-president and chief product & technology officer, said the world pulls in a million different directions. “So the most important thing we, at Spotify, can do for creators is to reduce the distance between their art and the people who love it, or who would love it as soon as they discovered it.”

The streaming giant found that the next generation of listeners craves better ways to sample audio before fully diving into it. Spotify described its new look as a “more active experience with advanced recommendations, a spotlight on visual canvases, and a completely new and interactive design”. The app wants to make discovering new audio easier than ever before and help introduce users to their next favorite artist, podcast, or book. It said the update, that is the redesign, work to bring creators and fans closer than ever, to build lasting connections.

Users can scroll purposefully through music, podcast and audiobooks thanks to the new feeds of visual clips. They don’t have to worry about losing their shortcuts or favorites. These will still appear at the top of their Home feed. Users will also find previews to the top of their music, podcasts & shows, and audiobooks feeds for the very first time.

Spotify has been enhancing and innovating the app experience time and again and gained new users. In early 2022, the app recorded 456 million active users. It’s to be seen whether the app will cross 500 million active users mark with its new look.
