Hamad International Airport (DOH) has been ranked as the second-best airport in the world, at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2023, for the ninth consecutive time. It also claimed the titles – “World’s Best Airport Shopping” and “Best Airport in the Middle East”.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, congratulated Hamad International Airport for winning the important customer awards for 2023. Hamad International Airport, since its opening in 2014, has emerged as one of the most prominent airports in the world. The airport has also undergone major expansion, including the addition of a brand new, state-of-the-art indoor tropical garden called the ORCHARD, along with new lounges, and exclusive retail outlets. It recorded a significant increase in passenger traffic, in 2022, with a 101.9 percent year-on-year surge – making it a memorable year for the airport as it welcomed over 35 million passengers.
The Skytraz World Airport Awards was hosted at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on March 15. It is regarded as the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry.
