Butternut Box, a UK-based dog food supplier, has acquired Polish brand PsiBufet to extend its operations to central and eastern Europe. Poland will serve as a regional hub for the group’s operations and enable wider growth into Europe. Butternut makes “human quality” fresh dog food.
In a statement, the start-up, said the deal will allow PsiBufet’s customers to enjoy better quality fresh food, a wide range of products, and a more advanced online customer experience. Kevin Glynn, co-founder of Butternut Box, said PsiBufet shares their commitment to provide dogs with fresh, wholesome, nutritious meals. Butternut is excited to bring their expertise and product offerings into the portfolio. Glynn said the acquisition allows the company to scale its operations in Europe and bring the Butternut Box experience to even more dog owners and their beloved dogs.

Butternut Box, as per the official statement, has raised over $124.5 million in funding since its inception with investors, such as White Star Capital and L Catterton. Moreover, the start-up recently received certification as a B Corporation – partially to the opening of a fully integrated manufacturing facility, Rudie’s Kitchen, in March 2021.
