Japan now has its very own Jordan World of Flight store in Tokyo’s very busy district of Shibuya. The store spans 9200sqft. It pays homage to basketball culture and the Jordan brand’s identity and heritage.
The store will feature The Workshop, which provides guidance and educational tutorials on shoe lacing, care, and preservation. The Jordan World of Flight store also offers a Jordan-branded product range across men’s women’s and kids. The store accommodates a content studio designed for shoppers to film unboxing, and reviews, and create content to share on social media. Moreover, artworks of local artists are displayed throughout the store.
Craig Williams, president of the Jordan Brand, said Tokyo is the perfect backdrop, a city that is constantly pushing the edges of innovation, fashion, music and art. He explained that World of Flight is a manifestation of the full potential of the brand. “By connecting with people around the world through the values the Jumpman represents, we hope to create even deeper ties to our consumers and underline the culture that unites us all.”
The Tokyo Jordan World of Flight includes wall-to-wall displays of Jordan Brand products, a customization station, and pick-up services.
Nike Grows the Jordan Brand
Nike revealed last year that the Jordan Brand made $5.1 billion in annual revenue for fiscal 2022. Matt Friend, Nike EVP, said Jordan Brand had strong double-digit growth and incredible momentum. He highlighted that the brand has particularly grown among women, and has even greater potential, with a path toward becoming the number two footwear brand in North America.
