Pleasures Collaboration With Puma Fuses Two Worlds

Pleasures teamed up with Puma for the Velophasis sneaker model, a fusion of two worlds – the counter-culture in music and its code, and the retro-futuristic codes of Puma’s latest shoe models. It features a purple-colored translucent cage with the PLEASURES logo embossed in black. The color treatment of Velophasis adheres to the sole in a unique way, giving the footwear a pre-worn look, while the over-dyeing covers the entire shoe from the laces to the sole.

PUMA says the collaboration endeavors to blend PLEASURES’ understanding of music sub-cultural codes with the very latest from the sportswear brand’s retro-futuristic footwear offerings. The sneaker, which was initially launched in January, has been redone with a characteristic customized feel.

Sarah Mayer, Head of Product Line Management, PUMA Sportstyle, expressed excitement to work with PLEASURES. “We love PLEASURES’ ability to bring in varied references and touchpoints. With this new collaboration, the Velophasis gets a completely fresh look and feel with this DIY-inspired over-dyeing effect.” Alex James, co-founder and director of PLEASURES, said this is the start of a beautiful relationship. “PUMA has such cool history, we can’t wait to bring the PLEASURES aesthetic into a new world.”

Velophasis is a product of love for streetwear and music (metal, grunge, and punk rock).
