Mustard & Ketchup = Deadpool & Wolverine For Heinz ‘Now You Can’t See It’

Heinz has leverage the highly anticipated release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which hits cinemas on July 26, for its iconic HEINZ Ketchup and Mustard. The food processing giant has also announced, for the first time ever, the release of limited-edition collectibles – fans can enjoy bottles of ketchup and mustard resembling their favorite Deadpool and Wolverine.

Lizzy Goodman,  Brand Communications Manager for HEINZ US at The Kraft Heinz Company, said after seeing the hype on social media about the similarities between the two iconic duos – Deadpool & Wolverine and HEINZ Ketchup & Mustard, they had to team up with the film. “Once we made that connection, we couldn’t unsee it, as these similarities go beyond color,” she explained. “One’s sweet, one’s zesty. Everyone has a favorite, but really, they’re better together. Goodman added that both duos play starring roles in an epic summer.

Ryan Reynolds, the actor who plays the character Deadpool and is also the writer and producer of the film Deadpool & Wolverine,  said when his assistant faxed him a photocopy of a memo (he spelled it meme), wherein Deadpool and Wolverine were identified as a HEINZ Ketchup and Mustard bottle, respectively, he thought nothing of it and went back to his book and tea. “But the faxes kept on coming! So, the idea was hatched to actually partner with HEINZ to bring this memo to life. Huzzah!”

HEINZ’s Deadpool & Wolverine collectibles celebrate the great lengths fans go to, to show their love for both HEINZ and the film, including dressing up as life-size HEINZ Ketchup and Mustard bottles or cosplaying as Deadpool and Wolverine. The collectibles are part of a larger collaboration between HEINZ and Marvel Studios Deadpool & Wolverine.

There’s also a short film featuring a custom voiceover by Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds, and quickly morphs into an ad for HEINZ Ketchup & Mustard. Deadpool and Wolverine shockingly realize that they look exactly like HEINZ Ketchup and Mustard bottles.
