Dove and tennis legend Venus Williams have unveiled the first-ever Dove Beauty Bar collaboration Dove x Venus #KeepHerConfident Beauty Bar. This is a limited edition from Dove and Williams’ shared vision to help girls stay in sports.
The beauty soap comes in a tennis ball green color and has a passionfruit & lemon balm fragrance, with the word ‘CONFIDENT’ engraved. Moreover, the soap comes in a limited-edition canister made from recycled materials.
The 7x Grand Slam champion Venus Williams expressed excitement to collaborate with Dove. “I am so excited to be collaborating with Dove to continue our mission of keeping the next generations of young women athletes playing the sports they love,” she said. “I loved partnering with Dove to create the #KeepHerConfident Beauty Bar and incorporating my favorite fragrances, nods to the game I love with the tennis-ball colored bar and a powerful message to keep our young athletes looking, smelling, and feeling great and confident.”
Mele Melero, Chief Growth Officer, Dove Personal Care North America, said they are thrilled to release the first-ever limited edition of the beloved Dove Beauty Bar. “Venus has been an incredible champion of the Body Confident Sports mission, and we couldn’t think of a better partner or role model for girls to co-create the #KeepHerConfident Beauty Bar with.”
The latest collaboration follows Dove’s 2023 research which found that 45 percent of girls globally drop out of sports by age 14, twice the rate of boys. Body confidence is the number one reason for them to drop out. The #KeepHerConfident Beauty Bar aims to raise awareness of the Body Confident Sports Program – this is a first-of-its-kind and scientifically proven set of coaching tools developed with Nike to build body confidence in 11-17-year-old girls.
As part of the launch of Dove x Venus #KeepHerConfident Beauty Bar, Dove will partner with Black Girls Tennis Club on an in-person tennis experience for middle school girls in New York City. It has partnered with Bras for Girls to donate over 1,000 sports bras for late elementary to middle school girls.
