Uber One Goes Places With Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield

Uber One, Uber’s subscription option, has roped in actors Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield to help users bond over scrumptious food and going places. The ad campaign is also for the Uber Eats delivery service. Robert De Niro reprises the role of 1976 Taxi Driver for the ad and he uses his famous line “You talkin’ to me?”

Maya Gallego, Senior Campaign Manager at Uber Eats UK, said the ad campaign highlights how Uber One is the ideal membership for people who like to eat food and go places. “Our new campaign aims to let people know that Uber One is a membership for people who eat food and go places, which is just about everyone.

“With Uber One, members can save money on Uber & Uber Eats, and it’s already being enjoyed by over 1 million people in the UK. For our first ever Uber One campaign, we’ve been lucky enough to work with the incredibly brilliant Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield who have brought this campaign to life beautifully on screen.”

The ad is directed by David Shane. Asa Butterfield, who is renowned for his role in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, tries to connect with the veteran actor Robert  De Niro who quietly eats his Uber delivery.

Butterfield tries to make a simple conversation with him by asking “So, ah, you eat food?” De Niro replies “Do I eat food? Yeah, I eat food. Do you eat food? Butterfield replies affirmatively. “I love food. I had food for breakfast.”

Then the 26-year-old asks “Do you go places?” De Niro responds, then Butterfield says he also enjoys going places. “I love places. I go – went to this place, just well, just now.” De Niro asks “Which place is that? Here?”

Butterfield replies “Yeah. I was there and then, and now I’m here.” Amazed, the 80-year-old veteran actor says “You were there and you came here? Wow. Look at that. We both eat food and we both go places.”

The ad features the actors doing a variety of activities, including riding in the back of a car. Butterfield tells De Niro all about Uber One. The duo take their Uber to go shopping at a boutique, get smoothies, play on swings in a park, eat more takeout at an apartment, and play ping pong.
