With the addition of the state-of-the-art Perry Glass Studio, the Goode Works on Paper Center, and innovative gallery reinstallations, the Chrysler Museum recognized the need for a cohesive brand that could unify its expanding campus. This is mainly because the previous signature tower logo, while iconic, failed to capture the museum’s contemporary offerings and diverse appeal.

A Collaborative and Inclusive Rebrand

The rebranding initiative, spearheaded by Erik H. Neil, Joan, and Macon Brock Director, aims to create a cohesive identity for Chrysler Museum that resonates with diverse audiences and manages the growing campus effectively. In the 14-month rebranding process led by the renowned design agency Pentagram, the museum sought input from various stakeholders, including staff, trustees, donors, and community members. This collaborative approach ensured that the new visual identity would resonate with a wide audience and accurately represent the institution’s commitment to accessibility and community engagement.

A Welcoming Face for the Future

The museum’s new logo is a simplified, geometric design that includes the initials ‘CM’. The logo was inspired by the archways of the museum’s façade. It offers a warm and welcoming contrast to the Renaissance-style building, while also complementing the modern look of the Perry Glass Studio expansion. The museum plans to gradually implement the new visual identity across its website, social media accounts, promotional materials, and the entire campus.
