Arabian Travel Market Wants to Make Industry More Environmentally Responsible

Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center in May, will feature a Sustainability Hub for the first time. The hub will showcase the latest sustainable travel trends and innovations, and host the ATM 2023 Start-up Competition

The four-day international travel and tourism event, which will be held from May 1 – 4, will focus on travel trends and innovation that can change the face of the travel industry by making it more environmentally friendly. It will also unlock business potential within the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals.

The main theme for ATM 2023 is “Working Towards Net Zero”. It will explore the future of sustainable travel, focusing on innovative and evolving travel trends, and provide a platform for experts to explore a sustainable future before the commencement of COP28, which will be held in Dubai in November.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market, said it was essential for the travel industry to support and invest in new technologies for a better and more sustainable travel sector for future generations. Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) said they are looking forward to discussing and exploring opportunities for sustainable growth.

ATM 2023 will also have a session on “Technology: The Enabler of Sustainable Travel”, wherein industry experts will share their insights and discuss the importance of online tools and how they make it easier for consumers to reduce their environmental impact while planning trips and bookings for travel, and stay, among others.

Arabian Travel Market is the leading global event for the inbound and outbound travel industry in the Middle East. This annual event, for the last 29 years, has connected products and destinations from around the world with buyers and travel trade visitors at the Dubai World Trade Center.
