Crocs’ latest limited-edition ‘Keep It Going Classic Clog’ features 25 percent post-consumer recycled content in each shoe. The latest launch follows the brand’s recent milestone of achieving 25 percent bio-circular content across its entire Croslite material portfolio.
Through Keep It Going Classic Clog, Crocs is giving a second life to plant-based byproducts that would have ended up as waste through material innovation. This reflects the brand’s efforts at the intersection of circular innovation and materials.
Deanna Bratter, Chief Sustainability Officer at Crocs, said they want to thank every Crocs fan who bought in or sent back their old Crocs shoes for the company to explore ways to give them a new life. “This type of circularity program only works when consumers engage and are willing to do some good in the world together,” she explained. “Fueled by our fans, we are making strides in our ambition to create more circular systems of production and consumption, and ultimately delivering against our commitment to bring Comfort to the Planet.”
Crocs, since the launch of the ‘Old Cros, New Life’ pilot program last October and its nationwide expansion in May, has collected Crocs shoes at retail locations across the country and through an online mail-back kit. It has partnered with Soles4Souls, an international NGO, to create local economic benefits in communities around the world.
Old and worn-out Crocs are processed, sorted, and deconstructed into post-consumer recycled materials ready for their next use. Crocs is committed to circular solutions.
