Mattel has collaborated with Samsung for its first 24/7 Free Ad Supported Streaming (FAST) channels, Barbie and Friends, Hot Wheels Action and Mattel Jr., on Samsung TV Plus. These channels will be live later this year and will be free to access from Samsung Smart TVs, Galaxy Devices, and Samsung TV Plus portal.
Mattel says the three new channels will feature content inspired by globally beloved brands like American Girl, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, Masters of the Universe, Matchbox, classic Monster High, Thomas & Friends, and more.
Michelle Mendelovitz, Global Head of Mattel Television Studios, says they aim to engage fans in new ways with their favorite Mattel characters and storylines. “We are pleased to partner with Samsung TV Plus to advance Mattel’s content strategy and provide audiences with a premium viewing experience.” Jason Horowitz, SVP, Global Head of Marketing & Media at Mattel, said they are thrilled to partner with Samsung TV Plus to establish their first-ever FAST channels. “In launching these channels, we gain the opportunity to deepen our relationship with existing Mattel fans and connect with all-new audiences.”
Sarah Nelson Uberto, Head of Business Development, Partnerships at Samsung TV Plus, said Mattel choosing to launch its first FAST channels with Samsung TV Plus is a testament to the service and audiences Samsung has built. “Barbie and Friends, Hot Wheels Action and Mattel Jr. add even more choice to Samsung TV Plus’ stable of family-friendly, brand-safe content we know both viewers and advertisers will love.”
FAST streaming services such as Samsung TV Plus will make premium content available without a subscription. The channels will mark Mattel’s first expansion into the growing digital format. Moreover, the channels will feature easy-to-access, around-the-clock kids programming curated for fans of Mattel IP to enjoy hours of shows and family entertainment. Mattel fans can access these channels on Samsung TV Plus’ dedicated Kids’ destination on the Samsung TV Plus home screen.
