The Little Mermaid: Pandora Releases New 7-piece Collection ‘Journey Beyond the Sea’

Pandora has announced Journey Beyond the Sea, a new seven-piece collection, in collaboration with Disney to celebrate the new movie The Little Mermaid. The new jewelry collection captures the essence of friendship and adventure, with designs that bring to life new perspectives of the reimagined classic, championing female empowerment and independence.

Journey Beyond the Sea”, set to be launched on May 25, drew inspiration from the main character Ariel, a rebellious young mermaid who yearns for life on land and the love of human prince Eric. Pandora modeled the jewels around Ariel’s “fearless spirit and sense of freedom”. A. Filippo Ficarelli, senior vice president at Pandora, said the inspiration was drawn from the diverse characters and unlikely friendships that empower Ariel’s story. Francesco Terzo, fellow senior vice president at Pandora, hopes the designs are a reminder for their fans to approach life with curiosity.

The seven-piece collection styles include 14K gold-plated Seashell Stud Earrings detailed with realistic grooved lines and set with a luminous white lacquered artificial pearl at the centre, and a 14K gold-plated Shell Dangle Charm engraved with the message ‘My voice is a treasure’ on the spiral.

‘Little Mermaid’ Pandora’s New Collection

This is not Pandora’s first collection with Disney. The two brands share treasured classics over almost a decade of partnership, crafting and reimagining them into wearable stories. The new ‘The Little Mermaid’ 2023 collection furthers this collaboration and highlights Pandora’s efforts to empower people to express themselves through personalization, allowing them to reflect on who they are.

Pandora reiterated that empowering women and girls is the core of Pandora’s values. The jeweler participates in global functions and supports global charity partners that enable more women and girls to realize their potential. Pandora is also a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) established by the UN Global Compact and UN Women. The set of principles offers guidance to businesses on how to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community.
