Microsoft has launched Copilot+ PCs – the fastest and most intelligent Windows PCs the world has ever seen. It comes equipped with powerful new silicon capable of an incredible 40+ TOPS (trillion operations per second), all-day battery life, and access to the most advanced AI models.
The Copilot+ PCs enable users to do things they can’t on other personal computers. Users can easily find, remember what they have seen in the PC with Recall, generate and refine AI images in near real-time directly on the system using Cocreator. Users can also overcome language barriers with Live Captions translating audio from 40+ languages into English.
Microsoft said they have seen an incredible pace of innovation of AI in the cloud, over the past year, with Copilot allowing them to do things that they never thought was possible. “Now we begin a new chapter with AI innovation on the device. We have completely reimagined the entirety of the PC from silicon to the operating system, the application layer to the cloud – with AI at the center, marking the most significant change to the Windows platform in decades,” said Microsoft. “We introduce an all-new system architecture to bring the power of the CPU, GPU, and now a new high-performance Neural Processing Unit (NPU) together.”
It highlighted that Copilot+ PCs can achieve a level of performance never seen before. “They are up to 20x more powerful and up to 100x as efficient for running AI workloads and deliver industry-leading AI acceleration. They outperform Apple’s MacBook Air 15” by up to 58% in sustained multi-threaded performance, all while delivering all-day battery life.”
Copilot+ PCs can deliver up to 22 hours of local video playback or 15 hours of web browsing on a single charge – meaning up to 20% more battery in local video playback than the MacBook Air 15”. Furthermore, Windows has the best implementation of apps on the fastest chip. Copilot+ PCs leverage powerful and multiple state-of-the-art AI models to unlock a new set of experiences the user can run locally, directly on the device.
