South Korea is taking K-content to the next level in 2024 with a K-Culture visa for those who love everything Korean. Seoul is cashing in on K-pop and the nation’s unique culture with two visas in 2024.
The digital nomad visa and the K-culture training visa aim to boost South Korea’s tourism. The two visas align with the country’s vision to position itself as a preferred destination for global travelers. Moreover, South Korea is enhancing the travel experience by revamping its travel infrastructure, and foreign mobile payments to revolutionize shopping for international visitors.
South Korea said it will expand group electronic visa fee waiver, increase limits for immediate tax refunds on duty-free purchases, and boost transportation reservation services and payment methods. The South Korean Tourism Ministry announced an increase in the number of K-tourism roadshows held abroad from 15 to 25 in 2024; the target is 20 million international tourists in 2024.
Korean pop culture has taken the world by storm in the last decade, emerging as a soft power for South Korea. Korean groups like BTS have collaborated with McDonald’s, and Park Seo Joon has taken Korea to the world of Marvel. K-pop has contributed trillions of dollars to the South Korean economy.
