AliExpress, a global marketplace, has taken to livestream e-commerce in the UK with Love Island alums Olivia Attwood and Kady McDermott hosting the channels. UK influencers can grow their brands with AliExpress livestream e-commerce.
The livestream shopping service is available through AliExpress’s Interactive ‘mini shop’ programme, wherein consumers can shop through short videos and live streams hosted on the platform. The Alibaba Group owns AliExpress, which is a mainstay of e-commerce in China but is relatively new in the UK market.
The Chinese company said consumers in the UK will be able to take advantage of exclusive discounts and over 20,000 women’s fashion releases to accompany the launch of AliExpress’ It Girls initiative, on top of the more than six million items now available on the platform.
AliExpress is inviting UK-based content creators to be part of the ‘It Girls’ community and make their livestreams. Creators will earn a commission on every sale made via their streams. They also have the chance to develop their fashion collections later this year by participating in a live-streaming competition.
Attwood expressed the thrill of bringing this innovative and fun shopping experience and its benefits to the UK. “We cannot wait to see what the next couple of months brings, and we encourage everyone to join in, whether you are someone who loves shopping for fashion or an influence keen to join our community of It Girls.”
