Eminem was the star of Fortnite, a popular video game, virtual concert called the Big Bang Event. The popular rapper was featured in an avatar form for an alternative-dimension show. Eminem’s screen time ran about four minutes with the songs Lose Yourself and Godzilla.
The much-touted event lasted around 10 minutes wherein players were whisked through a variety of spaces – from Fortnite’s Battle Royale island to a fantasy cosmos, including a trip through a Lego world and desert racing scene. They were swept into an arena where Eminem’s avatar appeared onstage, decked out in rap attire, but not before they witnessed some of the Fortnite game’s past happenings – rocket launch, meteor crash, and then all was sucked into a black hole.
The American rapper was last seen in metaverse events within Fortnite, including musical sequences from Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, and Marshmello. This time around, Eminem performed Godzilla like a kaiju, with the background being a ruined city on fire, the rapper even breathed fire into the air!
The Big Bang Event, featuring Eminem, was Epic’s strategy to step into a more creative mode. Players had a blink-and-miss moment with upcoming experiences in the game. Fortnite players can purchase the Eminem skins, including designs like Slim Shady and the Rap Boy look.
