Joonbyrd aimed to disrupt the beauty and wellness category by infusing it with joy and fun. The company sought to provide users with an immersive experience that balanced credibility and desirability. In collaboration with Almighty, a full-service branding and packaging design studio, Joonbyrd embarked on a journey to develop a brand identity that would evoke a sense of playful wonder and stand out on bathroom shelves. Rejecting the clinical, minimalist aesthetic prevalent in the industry, Joonbyrd and Almighty embraced the concept of “credible nostalgia” to create a vibrant and maximalist aesthetic.

Evoking a Visual Wonderland

Almighty, in partnership with creative studio Illo, steered away from conventional lifestyle photography, opting instead for psychedelic and slightly surreal imagery to create a journey of discovery. Inspired by Alexis’ childhood memories of her grandmother’s lotions and potions, Joonbyrd’s visual world captures a playful and sensorial experience reminiscent of “Alice in Wonderland.” The rich candy color palette, coupled with the signature ‘JB’ pattern, pays homage to the throwback appeal of the 60s and 70s. To reinforce Joonbyrd’s commitment to science-backed skincare, Almighty introduced icons representing core pillars such as Hardworking Actives, Microbiome Support, Botanical Extracts, and Functional Enhancers, showcasing the brand’s dedication to innovation and skin-friendly products.
