Sun Life Becomes ‘Sunlife’ in a Global Rebrand

The Sunlife rebrand was announced on 15 October 2026: Sun Life is consolidating its name worldwide into a single word, Sunlife, paired with a simplified sun globe logo and the tagline “Making life brighter,” according to the company’s press release.

One name for four businesses
The parent company remains Sun Life Financial Inc., still trading under the ticker SLF. The rebrand ties the name change to the group’s growth beyond life insurance into asset management, wealth, and health, and is meant to give one consistent identity across businesses operating in fifteen markets, including Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, India, China, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Bermuda. The rollout is phased, starting with digital and client facing channels, and the company says old and new branding may both appear during the transition.
“This is about much more than changing how Sunlife looks,” said Kevin Strain, Sun Life’s CEO. “By bringing the strength of Sunlife together under one clear global identity, we create deeper relationships.”
Insurance brands rarely rename themselves mid growth. Sun Life just did.

What to Watch
Watch which market gets the full switch first, since the release names no sequencing, and whether the one word name survives contact with markets where “Sun Life” is a registered, regulated entity name.
