Uber Offers “Royal Ride” to Celebrate Coronation of King Charles III

Uber is providing a one-of-a-kind ride in style, a “Coronation Carriage”, to celebrate the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III. The royal ride will be available for bookings on the days leading up to the coronation, May 3 – May 5, with limited trips around Dulwich Park.

Andrew Brem, general manager at Uber UK, boasted that the coach closely resembles the carriage, the King himself will ride. “What better way to celebrate one of the most significant events of 2023 by riding like King Charles III in a horse-drawn carriage?” He said Uber is always looking for new ways to add a litter Uber-magic to people’s journeys. “We are over the moon to be able to bring the Coronation Carriage to Uber.”

The ride-sharing company took this up after research found that 41% of Brits would like the chance to go in a horse-drawn carriage. Moreover, 51% of Brits will be celebrating the coronation, while almost a third plan to be in London during the week of the coronation.

Uber plans to make the most of this historical week with its Coronation Carriage. The carriages will be pulled by four white horses dressed up in coronation wear while the rides will have plush seats and embroidered cushions. Uber is also broadening its offering with the introduction of Uber Boats and deals to promote National Rail journeys, Eurostar, coaches and car rentals.
